Dance in Brno
Papcun, Peter ; Všetečková, Alena (referee) ; Galeová, Nicol (advisor)
Contemporary dance theater faces the problems of insufficient infrastructure and unsuitable spaces for its performances. Classic theater buildings and other transformed spaces often do not meet the specific needs of dance art. The lack of new, specially designed spaces in the Czech Republic leads to the migration of dancers abroad or to Prague. In this work, I devoted myself to the analysis of the current issue of dance theater and at the same time I focused on the analysis of the solved plot. Based on these analyses, I developed a proposal for a new theater that reflects the identified problems, offers solutions and deviates from standard ideas about the theater. The goal of my proposal is to create an environment that will be in line with the requirements and needs of the dance theater today. When designing the theater, I took into account aesthetic, functional and technical aspects in order to create a space that will allow the presentation of dance performances in the best possible form. The result is a comprehensive theater design, which is based on thorough analysis and at the same time brings innovative solutions for dance theater today. The building should be integrated into the scale of the city of Brno and become an integral part of its life.

Waidingerová, Andrea ; SOPROVÁ, Jana (advisor) ; HYVNAR, Jan (referee)
Most of us try to do performance in pure style (mime, drama, clownerie, slap stick, physical theatre, opera, musical, ballet). I am interested in mixing of these styles. Robert Wilson works this way. For him movement is one of the basic means of communication. He works ? as mime theatre does ? with images (pictures). He works with hyperbole and big stylization, that is close to mime theatre. This thesis is interested in mime theatre or theatre of movement and its relation to other elements of theatre. The thesis also deals with the work of Robert Wilson and tries to show the interaction of the elements he uses for the stage image. A how he touches the audience with his work.
